No Update

Due to being pretty ill lately haven't really been up to anything to have an epic post. But Sunday should be heading to booterville to hit up a bc kicker. Make sure I take lots of pictures. But I will leave you with my weeks humour.

Make sure you have the volume on.

Against Me!

OH WHAT A WEEK. Possibly one of the best of my life

Tuesday- Went to Vancouver. Did some stuff that. Not really appropriate for this blog. Then got hammered on Colt 45 (yes the drink of tramps). Went to the show at the Rickshaw theatre. What an amazing venue. Probably the best Venue I have ever been to. Cancer Bats were supporting. Put on such a good show got mental in the circle pit.

Then Against Me! came on. Oh my days so amazing. Just so much energy... Got to crowd surf to the front and got pulled on stage. YES ON STAGE was actually so insane being on the stage with them during Baby, I'm an Anarchist. Then stage dived SO GOOD.
Bad quality I know but you get the point.

So Came back from Van to work Thursday, Then WENT AND SAW AGAINST ME AGAIN:)
This time in Whistler at Garfs, with Cancer Bats and 3 inches of blood.
Was at the front for the whole thing was insanely good. 3 inches of blood are INSANE like they play goood.
Against Me! came on and shit went off. it was soo good they recognized us from Van. During Baby, Im an anarchist me and Tom Gabel (lead singer) had an awesome personal experience (no homo) counting down into the chorus. haha. Anyway end of the show came, which was shitty but the roadie remembered us. So now I am the proud owner of two Against Me! picks and a George Rebelo drum stick (the new AM! drummer) So I was a happy bunny.

Work Friday was so harsh. was a very delicate day. Tonight, Riddy and I are going to see the new Alice in Wonderland should be goooooood :)

And I leave you with this:

Whistler Live and an almost bummer

So after a week of feeling bummed about C.R. I finally got out riding feeling super stoked on life. Did a couple of runs off peak chair first thing. Snow was wet and heavy but had some good lines. Then spent the rest the day lapping the park finally stomping 540's off the medium jumps I was a very happy chappy.

But then disaster struck when my rear binding imploded.
Feeling rather bummed out. But didn't let it ruin my day, I went and got a pair of K2 extremes from the demo tent to ride for the rest of the day... Have to say first time riding proper freestyle specific skis. They were alot of fun made spinning alot easier... So Tempted to invest in some K2 Domains next year. we shall see haha.

End of the day went to pretty much every ski shop in Whistler trying to find a new plate for my binding. Almost ready to give up and think id have to invest in new bindings some dude who worked at Comor came over to me asked me why I was so bummed out, Well he went to the back (after a guy before told me they had nothing) and found an exact plate to replace it. Being super stoked I asked the price. He only wanted a 6 pack of bottled Kokanee. Well I went off to the liquor store brought him a 18 pack and told him he saved my season... He was almost as happy as I was after. GOOD RESULT :)
Thank you Comor.

OLYMPICS ARE OVER. and we went to a house party last night. Whistler Live baby.

RIP CR Johnson (October 8, 1983 – February 24, 2010)

SO I came home after a good day only to find out a very upsetting death happened today :(

One of my Idols has passed away this afternoon. FULL STORY HERE

After his amazing come back from the head injury back in 2005 being told he wouldn't ski again. His segments truly inspired me as to why we keep pushing our limits in skiing. He had an amazing comeback on the competition scene in January coming 2nd in the red bull linecatcher.

This is the second legendary skier Squaw Valley has lost in under a year. The first being Shane McConkey  last year in March. RIP. A friend of CR's wrote this eulogy for him: -CR Eulogy-

"Only the things that you truly love will you pursue with that energy and for me my family, my friends, and skiing, that's it for me, that's my life. The joy i get from skiing, that's worth dying for."- CR Johnson

Another Sick Day

So with no new snow over night.... But no people shredding the weekends pow. There was still plenty for me :)

I found a very VERY nice line untouched. I wonder why? It was perfect.
This Picture does not give it justice due to the cornices and drops
This shows the steepness better. And a good view (spot the almost untouched field)
Mandatory drop only like a 1-2 meters but still fun

Note: I shredded the line first then went back to take step by step photos. So the tracks you see below are mine.
My Pole is somewhere down by that tree haha.

And I will leave you with my latest youtube finding:

18cm freshys in Whistler biatch.

So we seem to of had alot of snow :) 18cm of fresh on top of the 20cm we had yesterday which equals an epic day. Got up for first lift so worth it.  Bad point of the day was losing my pole in the Emerald trees. So yet another financial set back investing in a new pair. Guess that's my sacrifice to the snow gods this year. But the mountain was in an amazing condition today. Hopefully tomorrow is equally as epic. VANOC must be hating all this snow. The smurfs keep having to dig out the race courses.
   SO MUCH SNOW:)

Second part of my day. We went to Riddy's place of work. aka Prior Ski and Snowboard factory(alot smaller than I thought it would be). Was pretty cool to see how everything gets put together. Kind of makes me wish I tried harder to get a job there.
This is how edges get put on.

Then after we wondered through the village for a Jug and wings. And saw a Jewish rapper.
He wasn't to bad.
Well thats the happenings for today :) keep checking back.

Olympics are here.

So finally first day of Olympics are upon us. First of bad news. During the mens luge training a 21 year old crashed on the last bend and died. Full article here: CNN Coverage.

Good news was I saw Noelle today was a bit weird I have to admit but definatly cool.
A bunch of events keep getting postponed due to snow (good thing for me) we had 20cm of fresh snow.

That's all for today. I leave you with the 2010 mascots oh and Pedobear which caused this: Polish-newspaper-claims-Pedobear-is-2010-Vancouver-Olympic-mascot
